Summer Training Program
The team will not be practicing for the rest of June and through July. As we prepare for our fall season, this training program will focus on the individual player. This technical program will allow the player to work on their skill development focusing on 1v1 situations. The player will focus on performing the drill accurately, with speed. Over the 8 week off season, the player will look to increase the speed at which the drill is completed. The player will be expected to keep a journal to track their progression.
Slow– week 1 and 2. The player will learn how to execute the move fluently without hesitation. This step is slightly faster than a walk-through.
Medium– week 3-5. The player will increase the speed while completing this drill.
Hard– week 6-8. The player will complete the move as fast as possible. The player will continue to focus on accuracy with the increased speed.
You will need:
- Small space (5×5) to play in – Basement, garage, yard or beach
- A Soccer ball – inflated
- A Stopwatch or Timer
- Proper footwear
- Access to Red Bulls YouTube Channel to view moves – https://www.youtube.com/user/NYRBTrainingPrograms/videos
The boys will be expected to spend 10 minutes total on each workout day, working on the identified session. Please note that this training is NOT mandatory but highly encouraged. If this is not completed it will NOT affect the boys playing time or position on the team. It is just encouraged to work on ball mastery and skill progression in the offseason! I promise they will see a difference come Fall!

Players will be asked to watch 30 minutes of soccer per week. They can choose from a game, to online videos/highlights or practice sessions. When the boys watch the games, it encourages them to be creative and learn new moves. Please write down what you watched that day!!
